FAQ
Common Datahyena questions.
Is Datahyena an enrichment API?
Not primarily. Datahyena focuses on company-event signals: funding, acquisition, and executive-move events, resolved to canonical companies and investors.
How fresh is the data?
New events typically appear within hours of being announced, not in a monthly batch. See the data lifecycle for how an event matures before it is served.
How far back does coverage go?
Datahyena is built for fresh events, not deep history. Coverage begins in early 2026 and grows continuously. See Coverage for the current window and volumes.
Do you deduplicate events?
Yes. The same event reported across many outlets collapses to one canonical record, and companies, investors, and people are resolved to stable canonical entities. See entity resolution.
Do you resell Crunchbase or another database?
No. Datahyena builds its own signals from public reports and returns them as structured, deduplicated records with the sources that reported each one.
Will I receive incomplete records?
No. Events are held until they have settled and been enriched before they are served or fired over webhooks, so you receive a complete record rather than a half-formed one. See the data lifecycle.
What are the rate limits?
Requests are limited per workspace per minute, scaling with your plan. See Rate limits.
What is the maximum page size?
Public list endpoints default to 20 and cap limit at 100. See Pagination.
How do I get an API key?
Create a workspace at app.datahyena.com; every new workspace starts with free credits, no card required. See the quick start.
